Hello there! My name’s Mike Crassweller, and you’ve made your way across the vastness of the Internet to my personal little corner of the world. I’m a married guy in his 30s working in the Video Games industry living in Dallas, TX. This site is where I try to express my thoughts and views on a great many things (news, ideas, technology etc.)

A brief (professional) bio…

By being in the right place at the right time, I managed to finagle my way into the Video Games industry back in 2006 when I was offered a job to “do stuff” at a software and game developer in Michigan called Stardock. By 2008, I was a part of the core team building the Impulse PC Digital Distribution platform, working with some of the biggest publishers and developers in the world to package their games for sale and distribution.

In 2011, Stardock sold the Impulse business and technology to GameStop (mega-huge video game retailer) and I went along for the ride, moving up to manage the entire content release & operations team, leading to the release of over 25 new titles per week for over a year.

After nearly 3 years at GameStop, I decided it was time for a completely new adventure and took a job at Spil Games in The Netherlands to run their Studio Operations team (QA, localization, mobile publishing).  From there I made a leap to a similar job at BoosterMedia/CoolGames, a nearby social/web game company in the heart of Amsterdam. After two years there, building an outstanding Operations Team (QA, Post Production, Licensing), I made the jump back into the world of game production as a Senior Game Producer, quickly becoming Studio Manager @ GameHouse in Eindhoven.

In 2019, after nearly 6 years abroad, I returned to the US and Dallas, Texas as Senior Production Manger for ForwardXP / Forward Game Studios to help run their AR/VR, Enterprise and Game projects.

Some personal bits…

  • 2003 – Graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Information Sciences & Technology
  • In 2010, I married my best friend in the world, Elisa
  • I’ve lived in 4 states & 2 countries (on two continents) in under 10 years (PA, CT, MI, TX and the Netherlands.  2004 – 2013)
  • I’m a voracious reader, sometimes consuming 2-3 books a week
  • I’ve traveled to England, Italy, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Japan, Iceland and all over most of New Zealand. Oh, and I drove through part of Canada once… didn’t stop.
